Archives Collection
Anchored in the Digital Archive Center of Chinese Philanthropy (DACCP), We focus on documenting the history and narratives of modern Chinese philanthropy. We bring together essential data, historical materials, case studies, and oral histories that reflect the development and transformation of China’s philanthropic sector. By highlighting locally grounded knowledge, we also advance the digitization and practical use of philanthropic data and archival resources.
Action Research
Grounded in the principles of action research, we draw on the professional expertise and networks of our research team to offer strategic advisory services to foundations, intermediary nonprofits, government agencies, and public institutions. We lead the development of national and regional reports on philanthropy and the nonprofit sector, and work in partnership with philanthropic organizations and community practitioners to pilot community-based initiatives. Through these efforts, we aim to foster a more enabling ecosystem for the sustainable development of philanthropy in local contexts.
Publication and Events
Drawing on our partnerships with the Committee for Philanthropic Studies, Chinese Sociological Association, the Committee for Service Learning, China Association for Social Work Education, the Committee for Public Services and Social Management, China Disability Research Society, we convene a variety of academic events in the field of philanthropy and charity. We support the publication of high-quality journal articles and book series, advance the editing and distribution of Journal of Philanthropic Studies, and develop philanthropy-focused teaching materials for the MPS Program. Together, these efforts contribute to the development of a China-based scholarly community in philanthropic studies and promote the localization of philanthropic theory within a sociological framework.
Ph.D. Program
Guided by the principles of holistic education and lifelong learning, we serve doctoral students enrolled in universities in China and abroad, as well as philanthropic practitioners seeking advanced academic training. Through project-based service learning and related approaches, we aim to strengthen participants’ competencies in literature review and analysis, coordination of academic exchange activities, research project fundraising and implementation, and the writing and publication of scholarly outputs.
